New from Dutch furniture designer WOOOD: well-priced, folding furniture for a small patio or balcony, sold in a flatpack and requiring home assembly. So far it sounds like Ikea, no?
But there are key differences between WOOOD’s folding furniture and Swedish flatpack-pioneer Ikea’s acacia wood outdoor bench. For one thing, WOOOD’s furniture is priced higher (the bench is about $290, versus $95 for an Applaro bench from Ikea). But does it really cost more in the long run? Built of sturdy hardwood eucalyptus, WOOOD’s folding furniture can last for 25 years:
