Bamboo needs a new press agent. For an invasive plant that's on everybody's Most Feared list, it certainly has a lot of hidden talents. Who knew, for instance, that you could weave bamboo fibers into highly absorbent (and more to the point, highly attractive) beach towels?
Above: A Sun Beach Towel, hand woven of fast-drying bamboo, is available in two colors; $48 from Gallant & Jones.
Above: I can't decide which I like better, red stripes or blue. Thoughts?
Above: Woven in Turkey and generously sized at 70 inches long and 39 inches wide, the towel also, according to Gallant & Jones, "can be worn as a lovely sarong." What next, bamboo? Are you coming over to cook dinner for me?
I'm not the only bamboo lover around these parts. Jeanne seems to have a crush on it too, if Bamboo, the Re-Think is any indication.
