Discovered on Materialicious: prefab beach houses from Sommarnöjen, a Stockholm-based company with the tagline "Small house. Great architects." The company commissioned well-respected Swedish architects—including Earth Architects, Hermelin and Palmstierna Architects, and Murman Architects—to design customizable cabins and cottages that can be used as guesthouses, saunas, offices, or studios. The Summerhouse Amusement collection includes houses built with local and sustainable materials.

Above: Murman Architects built the Juniper House on Gotland in 2005; it was long-listed for Building of the Year at the World Architecture Festival 2008. The Juniper 70 (Shown) is a simple wooden box covered by semi-transparent plastic netting, printed with images of the client's site to make it disappear visually into the landscape.
