7 Reasons to Love Spring Like It's a One-Time Thing

The thing that amazes me about spring isn't is that similar magic occurs every year (in fact, even before you were born).

We spent the week drinking it all in:

I played hooky from the office one afternoon to Visit The Native Plants at the Sf Botanical Garden. No regrets. In fact, I may do it again next week—meet me there?

Feeling a sudden crafts-y urge? No need to apologize; I too am eerily attracted to the idea of making a DiY Bird Feeder.

Janet thought she was over vertical gardens until the preview of the annual San Francisco Decorator Showcase this week. A living vertical wall in the Georgian mansion's courtyard displayed plants that we thought could only be planted in a horizontal garden: conifers, cascading maples, grasses and forest understory. The Decorator Showcase opens this weekend.

Warm weather. Mouse problem? Try a Garden Defense Electronic Owl;  "when a sensor in the battery-operated plastic bird detects a woodland creature, the owl’s head turns to fix the intruder with a murderous stare intended to frighten it away," reports the New York Times.

Laundry on the line is a given for the next six months. The Great Debate: wooden clothes pegs or pinch clips? A reader named Sarah says: "The old-fashioned peg style clothespin may look lovely, but the pinch-clip was developed for a reason. It holds on to the clothes when there's a wind! I learned this the hard way."
