Photographer Henry Parsons' capture of this balcony on Rue du Four in Paris has pushed me just about over the edge of envy. I'm not sure if it's the view, or the ferronnerie, or that carafe of wine that I want most, but this photograph is tempting me to book a flight to Paris, tout de suite.

In lieu of shirking my responsibilities stateside, I'll settle for recreating this scene—minus the spectacular views, alas.
The carafe pictured in this photo is actually the Leende Carafe from Ikea, featured in Janet's 10 Easy Pieces: Water Carafes. Since that exact model is no longer available in clear glass, I searched for a similar labware-inspired carafe. The Erlen Glass Pitcher is available from CB2 for $9.99.
The Balance Balloon Glass is an inexpensive option for balcony enjoyment. Glasses are available at CB2 for $3.95 each.
P.S.: After this week, I'm tempted to agree with Alice Gao's sentiment that the light must just be different over there.
